Moments ago via Twitter, Aaryn Flynn, GM for BioWare's Edmonton and Montreal studios announced that they would be at E3 2013 to talk about Dragon Age 3.
Dragon age 3: Inquisition is a sequel to Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2, developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. Dragon Age 3 does not have an official release date, but is expected to be released sometime in 2014.
Here's what we know about Dragon Age 3 so far:
- The title of the game will be Dragon Age 3: Inquisition
- Those working on the title include many of the same people that have worked on the Dragon Age series since Dragon Age: Origins. Along with the BioWare veterans they are bringing in some new fresh talent for Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, seeking to develop a game that fuses elements of it's two predecessors.
- Developers are working on a new engine that will allow for a more expansive world, better visuals, more "reactivity" to player choices, and more customization. They started with Frostbite 2 from DICE to accmoplish this.
- Although their looking to provide elements from both the previous titles, as far as combat goes, they want it to differ, in a way that combat is more focused on a player's ability to prepare. They want Dragon Age 3 combat to require fewer repetitive finger strikes and better thinking.
On the Dragon Age 3 official site, Mark Darrah, Executive Producer says:
"There's much more to talk about of course, but it will have to wait until it's ready for the prime time."
Well it looks like the "prime time" has come for Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, and we hope to get some new exciting details about the third title in the successful series.
